I really needed to escape from the heat and brown-ness of the valley, so the girlies and I (along with my mom and dad, and later, hubby, daughter and son-in-law) drove up to Lake Tahoe for a few days.
Our family is fortunate to have a house just outside South Lake Tahoe--close enough that the beach is 15 minutes away, far enough that there isn't really any weekend traffic coming through.
Spending all day at the lake, swimming and fishing. That's a summer getaway.
