I was glad I had decorated the dining room table with the autumn decor of pine cones, dried pomegranates, and ceramic acorn, turkey and pumpkin salt and pepper shakers before I had left for our trip. It was a welcome sight upon coming home.

And this new candle, picked up at Target, is a welcome scent of the season.

Did I mention it's wonderful to be home again?

Isabella had no school today and Alaina stayed home from school as well so all three of us could spend the day together. Maybe it's because I was missed or because they got a break from my camera, but it was easy to get them to sit still for a quick photo.

We spent the day playing Monopoly and Kerplunk, lunch at McDonald's, playing at the park and a trip to Borders for some new books.

I missed my girlies so much.

I haven't unpacked completely yet and all the vacation photos are still on another SD card. There's time to do all that later, right now I'm getting all the hugs and kisses from my girlies that I can get.

halloween

Home just in time for Halloween. The girlies came over for dinner, got dressed and out we all went to trick-or-treat around the neighborhood. This year, Isabella dressed as Tiana from Princess and the Frog and Alaina went as her favorite princess, Cinderella.

The night wasn't too cold and the walk felt good. B. and I were feeling pretty perky considering we had just flown into SFO late the night before. Jessica and I chatted as we walked and Sergio kept his iPhone on to get San Francisco Giants' updates on Game 3 of the World Series.

It's nice to be home.
